Update

So two weeks ago, I believe, I checked my weight because I wanted to see how far I was from my goal weight. Shockingly I lost 1 lb which was amazing since I wasn't so sure I was loosing any weight. My concern was I actually thought I was gaining.. Anyway, so I currently weigh 159 LBS! YIPPEE!!!

Just a recap, Two weeks ago I started the TurboFire and ChaLEAN Extreme Hybrid program.  I believe that is what made me lose the 1 LB because my body was being introduce to a new program and a program that had weight training involved. Muscle Burns FAT <-- That's what encouraged me to put those two programs together.  I do follow a calendar that is set up with what to do each day which is something I LOVE (I dont have to think of what to do at the gym)...

Another new thing I added was taking Shakeology every day.  I've been on and off from this but recently thought ok what the heck Im NOT loosing anything for NOT drinking it Im actually LOOSING all the nutrients this shake has.. Because not only is it a meal replacement but it has over 70 ingredients that are so good for you... Anyway, needless to say I cut down on all the "PILLS" that I use to take daily since this Shake HAS IT ALL (and BOY IT DOES)...

Another thing I learned from the Toneitup Ladies, is to workout in the morning before eating anything.. Even if its 10, 15 minutes.. I love there Itty Bitty Bikini workout (targets abs).. So plan to do this workout in the morning before getting ready for work!!!!

I will be updating my progress weekly and my weight every month as I know the last 14lbs are going to be the hardest...

By the way, CANT WAIT FOR HALLOWEEN!

October's new goals & workout plan

Wow, October is finally here. Yipee!

My goals for this month is to lose 5lbs and continue toning up (especially the love handles).  My other goal is to continue eating better, post my checkin's online and continue motivating myself & others to push harder.

My workout for this month will be a hybrid of two workouts: Chalene Extreme & TurboFire.
I chose these two programs because since one of my goals is to tone up I need some weight training babay!  In addition, not only will I be toning my arms, legs, stomach, love handles (PLUS), and more but I will be increasing my metabolism which for me is such a big concern.
The reason why I decided to mix it with TurboFire because not only is it a cardio workout but it includes HiiT workouts and lots of Ab exercises (another PLUS) for me.

This will be challenging but I am ready to move forward and reach for my goal.

New program

Wow so happy amazed at whats been happening.. So yesterday I did a workout by @Toneitup called Itty Bitty Bikini.. It was mostly Ab Work and to tone love handles (Main Concern Area).. I also started the LIVEFIT program by Jamie Eason from bodybuilding.com.  Its mostly weight training. Day 1 was Chest and Triceps.

My Day 1 on LIVEFIT was ok.  I could have used more weights to do my Chest Area. Its 3 Sets of 12 Reps.  I also did pushups and other tricep workouts.  I sweated a bit but didnt feel my heart rate go up as I wanted too. Oh well.

I then finished off with Itty Bitty Bikini workout.  Wow I must say I thought this was going to be easy but its NOT! I sweated yes and honestly I didnt think I was going to feel anything today. Boy was I wrong.. Its 1:32pm right now and I feel my stomach a bit sore as well as my arms.  Funny how it takes that long to be sore. Definately going with heavier weights when I do workouts. As well as the Itty Bitty Bikini.. I am going to continue doing it..  There programs are fantastic.

Cant wait to be part of the official Tone it Up Team.

Until then see ya soon!

Week 4 Day 3 of Insanity

So I woke up today wanting to see what my results are so far.... And so far I feel fantastic... My weight is still the same but my inch loss was dramatic. So far ive lost 6 inchess (all around) in 4 weeks. AMAZING! I'll post later on today my measurements on the inch loss on each area.  I believe that the reason why my weight hasnt gone down is because I havent been eating all that clean. Weekends are a killer, but its life. PLus I havent been doing Insanity everyday. I try to leave weekends as my rest days last week I didnt do anything (Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun) Yikes! I know but I believe I have been getting stronger by the day.

So happy of my results so far. Still have a weight loss goal to lose 14lbs but I plan on being a little more stricter on my food.

Week 4 of Insanity

Wow, cant believe it has been 3 weeks of completing Insanity.. I feel amazing. Never thought I would be able to do something so intense. About 2 years ago I never wanted to exercise but made the decision to try Turbo Jam. It was a definate game changer for me.  I feel so proud of myself and always have thanked a friend of mine who introduced me to these workouts. I gotta tell you Beachbody Programs ROCK!!!

My calorie intake has been from 1200-1500 .. It changes everyday... I have been drinking AminoEnergy before my workouts to get the best out of my workouts and drinking Pro Hers 5 (Protein Drink) after my workouts. I also drink Shakeology (Most of the time for breakfast). Dude this Shakeology is NO JOKE! I love it. There is nothing that compares to this shake. It has TONS of stuff in it. I did some research and I found that if I tried getting individual items of what Shakeology contains it would be way over $200... Anyway, have I mentioned it keeps me regular (TMI) haha..

:) Feeling FANTASTIC!

Pure Cardio Day 5

Yesterday's workout was Pure Cardio.  I have to admit I thought I would be really sore from these days that I have been doing Insanity BUT I havent. I know I am sweating buckets and trying my hardest. Really wondering why I am not sore. Anyway, I was able to burn 220 calories from doing 38 minutes of Insanity. Wish it was more, but I know it has to do alot with your age, weight, etc.  I have NOT been using my HRM but have been using this site:  http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm I have been taking my HR when we have breaks within our workout. I hope I am doing it correctly though.  This site was recommended by a friend from myfitnesspal.com.  By the way, have you used this site? Its amazing. I love how it tracks everything for you (calories, sugar, protein, etc even workouts) The people there is so supportive.

So today's workout should be challenging or at least I am going to make it challenging. I want to burn 400 cals MAX per each day I do Insanity which means I have to "Dig Deeper".  I will be creating a fan page as well for all my fitness friends where we can share tips, success stories, ups and downs and ways to keep us accountable and motivated. I will be sharing it as soon as I have it completed.

Day 3 Insanity

Day 3 of Insanity was a killer... I did 39 minutes of Cardio Resistance.. I modified a few things like the high jumps and of course the pushups, but other than that it was a success.. This workout program is NOT for the begginers let me tell you... I even think this is a bit hard for me but I am planning on pushing PLAY!  I have always done Turbo Jam, Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Fire so I wanted something that can challenge me therefore i picked out Insanity.

I havent been using my HRM watch... I have been manually taking my heart rate almost every 10 minutes to calculate my calories burned.. Yesterday only doing 39 minutes I burned around 468 calories. AMAZING!  Today is Day 4 and looking forward to it..

I do miss doing ZUMBA! My friend is an instructor and she sends me message if I am going to her class. I love ZUMBA... So what I was planning on doing is on my INSANITY rest days doing Zumba.. That way I can continue dancing...

My calorie intake yesterday was a bit low.. 1300 cals.. I need to step it up and eat around 1500 calories a day.. That is something that I need to work on..

Insanity Day 1 & Blogging

I know I know, I havent kepted up with Blogging but have been really thinking of ways I can do this... I have been thinking of adding the app on my phone so I can always post notes of how I feel before, after working out.. You know instead of waiting and forgetting the things that are important..  I also have been thinking about video blogging, wonder if anyone has done that before... Thoughts??

Ok so about my journey so far... Well I had supposably started P90X but STOPPED, I just thought right now it isnt for me. The workouts are very long and well sometimes I wanted to squeeze in some cardio and couldnt. Anyway, so today I decided on starting Insanity. I really want to add Chalene Extreme into my routine to weight train. I think this will help me lose weight and tone up.

As far as my eating habits, I have ordered Shakeology again! Basically my husband was bugging me to get it because of what he felt. The day he tried Shakeology for the first time he had so much energy and his cravings were gone. He was amazed at what he was feeling. I told him it was the Shake. He said "Well get me some more". Funny thing is that he never believes on what products can do until this one Shake. Gotta tell you it does wonders..  So what I plan on doing is drinking Shakeology for breakfast everyday.  My calorie intake will be around 1500 a day with a protein shake after working out to help me recover.

This is it for now... Will be blogging about my 1st day of Insanity/..

Last nights workout

Yesterday's workout was tuff.. Did Cardio & Resistance from Insanity (DAY3). Can I just say SORENESS! This is how I feel right now... My calves, thighs and arms are sore... But I love the pain.. Its like a drug to me, if you want to put it in those words.. Anyway, I did have to stop on several occasions and catch my breath.. I used my HR monitor to help me keep track of my heart rate.  Today I woke up so sore, can hardly walk but have to push through.. I was thinking of skipping todays Insanity workout to rest but do a little Zumba... Still debating.. I dont exercise until 5pm so it will give me some time to think..

Ill keep posting on my performances.. which makes me ask another question... What would be better to do? Blogging or Video Blogging???

Long time

Its been a long time to blog.. As a matter of fact I had forgotten.. But it's funny because I realized the importance of writting down all my ups and downs of my journey. I know that I can always go back and read what was on my mind that day and reflect upon it.

Ok, so I started Insanity yesterday. I skipped the fit test so went on Day 2 Plyometrics Cardio. BOY That was hard. I was dripping sweat like crazy. LOVED IT!! I think I found a new love.. Sorry Turbo Fire. I do love Turbo Fire but I wanted something new. I wanted something that would kick my butt each time AND I want to wear that shirt that says IVE EARNED IT haha.

Anyway, I am jotting down what I eat using Myfitnesspal app. I am using a MIO Classic watch to see my calories burned for my exercises. I am also replacing a meal with Lean Dessert Protein Shake (Fresh Cinnamon Roll flavor), drinking my vitamins and such!!

My overall goal is to lose 8lbs. I am shooting for 1.5 or 2lbs a week. So in a month I should be at that goal weight.

--
Ohhh by the way, Day 2 was so freaking cool. I woke up today with a sore butt. My arms are also sore from all those pushups. Guess I can use insanity as a strength training program. BUT I did add some Triceps and Biceps curls. Did 10 sets, 3 reps on each arm.. I want to get rid of those chicken wings LMAO!

Anyway, ill post another update on Day 3. :)

April's Goals

Whohoo Today is the 1st of the month... Do you know what this means?? It means I need to set NEW GOALS for the month!!! Yup, that is right.. New weight loss goals...

For the month of April I plan to do a few things.. I wanted to start of the month right but because im going on vacation on April 6th and NOT returning back until April 16th that means that for those days (10 days to be exact) I will have no choice then to not stick to my goals. So I will be starting my work out regimen on April 18th.

First and foremost because I will be coming back from vacation and probably gained a little weight I am going to start of with a cleanse!!! Boy I tell ya Im going to need it BIG TIME!!   I will be posting updates on that too.  I have a few workout programs at home and since by the time Im back from vacation the new YMCA is going to open I might check it out Saturday and Sunday morning to see what kind of classes they are going to have.. (Wish I tought classes so I can be one of there instructors) If I decide to stay at home with my workouts I will be doing the Hybrid program... This consists of Turbo Fire and Chalene Extreme.  TurboFire is a kickboxing workout and CHalene Extreme is more of a weight lifting class. I need the weights to tone up my arms. After loosing all the weight they are kind of flabby (ooppps did I just say that) haha. I even have a name for them (chicken wings) hahaha Ok sorry!

Anyway, that is going to be my goals for this month.  May will be a more stricter month and looking forward to it.

Motivation

Motivation can sometimes be hard when you are trying to achieve goals such as weight loss. I know for me this was HUGE!! I felt as though I need support from everywhere not just including my family.  Ive noticed these past couple of days that I feel more motivated when I share with other my goals, exercises, pounds off, etc.  You gotta admit sharing things like this to your own family is kinda stuff because sometimes you dont know if they will respond in a positive attitude.

I know sharing my experiences and journey online has been awesome. Not only do I get support from random people but I get motivate to PUSH harder!! What else can I want right?  I am so excited to share everything with everyone that wants to follow my continuous journey along the way!!!

Over 200lbs.. YIKES!

I was chatting with a friend about my weight loss journey and was motivated & inspired to write this blog post... Time flies..

I can remember back in July 2009 when I weigh over 200lbs... WOW, just thinking about it makes me get goose bumps.  I still cant believe I was that much.  I dont know what got me weighin that much, but I do know that I did have 2 kids and did NOT take care of myself after having them.  I had really bad self esteem and I thought what the heck I dont care about my body.  Everyone told me I should fix myself up and lose weight not only because of my husband but for myself.  I always told them I didnt care and my husband shouldnt care either.  BOY Was I WRONG!!  I went on hundreds of diets from injections to pills to starving myself.. I was the biggest YOYO Dieter ever.  Did it work? NO!!!  All it did was add more weight on the scale. It was so frustrating because I wanted to lose weight BUT I never turned to exercising. I mean come on who wants to exercise. I tried everything on the books but never lean towards exercising.

On July 2009 I came across this company that made these workout programs. I was hesistant at first because that meant EXERCISING, but I was determined to loosing weight.  I didnt want to go to the gym at all and be around those skinny people at the gym.  I felt out of place at the gym and most of all embarrassed of how I looked.  That's a reason why I gave Turbo Jam a shot.  My husband and kids were shocked but happy for me.  They actually thought I was going to quit after the first day but NOPE I didnt.  I completed the full workout program calendar.  The first day was intense. Learning the basics was hard and was sore for days! Every day it got easier and I was able to push a little harder. Until this day I still exercise and lost more and more weight.  I am so THANKFUL for TurboJam!!!

Here is my before picture (July 2009):

Here is my after picture (Aug 2009) :

Big difference uh!! I will be adding additional pictures of my other months progress... :)

Feeling Great...

Yesterday was awesome.. I felt so good after talking to some great friends I have made... They motivated me and pointed me to the right direction.  I wrote down all there suggestions on an APP I have on my phone so I can always go back to it in case I forget things.  First, one of the things my friend from Bodybuilding.com said was that 1200 cals that myfitnesspal.com suggested was wAYYYY TOO LOW!!  So I raised it up to 1500 cals.  Next I have to do 5xs a week exercise, better if I do 6xs but lets not push it!  3 Days cardio, 3 days strength training.  I am more of a cardio girl so Ill probably do weights 2xs a week.  Other tips were to not eat carns for my last 5-6 meals.  Great pointers!!

Update on yesterday... Did HiiT 15 and Fire 30 class of turbofire.  LOVED IT! My husband was watching me behind the door of the garage and he stated "boy I saw you punching and you were giving it all you got. You were punching real hard," I just laughed...

Today being Thursday I feel so much better in keeping track of my calories and working out. NO EXCUSES!!  I have also started a recipe notebook and have written down recipes from sparkpeople.com that I can do at home.  This will keep me fit as well as my family.

Ok, tonight is church day!!! Ill write a little about what I learned tomorrow.

CHEERS TO THE #NOEXCUSES SAYING!

Weird... Cant explain why....

So I started my diet yesterday... No specific diet, just wanted to eat clean and use myfitnesspal.com and an app I downloaded to my Droid phone called WWDairy.  WWDairy is almost the same as Weight Watchers only it is not affiliated with them.  They have the same system of points.  MyFitnessPal is just an online system were you can add what you eat daily...

Here is what I ate yesterday 2/28/11. (logged in myfitnesspal.com)

Breakfast:
- Quaker Oats Oatmeal     150Cals
- Banana                            95 Cals

Lunch:
- Subway 6in Turkey sandwich on wheat bread   280cals

Dinner:
- Brown Rice   50 cals
- Beans            61 cals
- Beef              117 cals
- Tortilla chips  110 cals

Snacks:
- Babby Carrots         25cals
- NuTek Protein         130 cals
- Watermelon             46 cals
- Skittles                     63 cals

Total 1,127 calories
** I know I ate not that great**

When I was logging those points on my WWDairy I noticed that I was way over my point limit when I ate those tortilla chips.  So if I would have not eaten the Protein shake, watermelon and skittles my calorie intake would have been 888 calories.... Now this makes me wonder how reliable Weight Watchers really is.  I mean I love the program.  I have been on it before and have had great results.  But I wonder if not eating enough calories is what is making me lose weight...

Thoughts???

---
On another note, I started TurboFire as my exercise regimen.  I had it sitting in my garage for a while and wanted to use it.  I normally go to the gym but there are times when I cant make it.

Did, Fire 30 and Stretch 10.... Based on myfitnesspal I burned 399 calories...

First and Foremost....

I have been thinking of creating a blog for some time now, but always thought it would take too much time.  After thinking and thinking I decided I would do it.

This blog was created to discuss my every day challenges, thoughts, up & down;s etc... I do not want this to be an ordinary blog but I do want everyone to be able to connect with it.  I have also decided to post about my fitness journey.  Struggling through those tuff times can be a bit hard.  Knowing that I can let it out on here is a great stress releaser...

Here it comes... The diary of a wife and mom...
